libmetis-dev software package provides Serial Graph Partitioning and Fill-reducing Matrix Ordering. Header, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmetis-dev
libmetis-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmetis-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmetis-dev *
You will get with libmetis-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
